SAT residnecy 2024 - 2026
A 2 year research project with freelands foundation created for uk artists who teach, cumulating in a residency to explore and create work from their research. The research was individual and explored their practice in connection to their art and teaching practice and context. The group are now continuing as a collective with ongoing support for freelands foundation.
Are you a courageous art teacher or artisteacher in primary or secondary education in the UK? Are you interested in joining a secret collective that will explore the relationship between artistic and educational practices?
Secret Art Teachers is a movement of four underground collectives in European countries, each one consisting of 10-25 interdisciplinary artisteachers. It is both a residency for artisteachers and a space for professional development.
Vision
Over a period of 2 years from September 2024, the collectives will meet regularly behind closed doors. They will meet inspiring artist/educators and discuss their practices in school, with a view to transforming their teaching practices in innovative, experimental and radical ways.
